CCK08 - Week4- Short paper 1

I think that my position on Connectivism has already been widely expressed in previous posts, and probably I will have to talk about it more. This week, in fact, I'd like to do something else.

You know, we're in the beginning of the school year, the time where teachers make programs. One of my responsability includes the coordination of a class, the First "Liceo Linguistico" and this role has to do with communication and connection of various components of the class: students, teachers, families, leadership.

Last week I attended the class coordinators meeting, so I found something which could become my first Connectivism little project.

These were my reflections:

Looking for strong and weack points.

  1. Strong, the most important
  • In the school document I found a graph wwhich says: The coordinator is in functional relationship with:
    • Students
    • Families
    • Other Coordinators
    • Teachers
    • Leadership

Could that be a network? I think so.

  • The functions of coordination are:
    • To check
    • To organize
    • To treat external relations
    • To treat internal relations
    • To learn and to innovate
    • to collaborate

Could a network facilitate these tasks? I think so.

        2.  Weak, the most important:

  • Teachers and families could show some resistances, so I think to find, at first,  collaboration with one or two teachers (who knows some tools)  to stimulate students, who stimulate families and other teachers.
  • Technological problems: one or two students have no internet connection at home. So is good to keep a traditional communication or/and do lessons in informatics lab.

Second step. Well, I spent the week thinking how to present the project to my colleagues. At first I made a map with interaction links, but I thought, I wouldn’t want to give too much of a professional image. So I prefer to speak about the project, as it could be the most natural thing of the world, starting with a mailing list and a class blog . I hope to have time to connect to each other later, or in the best way, that they are to connect with appropriate stress.
This is my quite simple marketing planning, after all, which takes care not to be too invasive and create too much anxiety.

Also for me, as a beginner, it’s better to start with little steps.

I think your thoughts about creating a small project reflect my ideas. I read on your blog but my italien is bad, so I could not comment there.

It seems to me that we have experienced equal problems with teachers teamwork. As I understand your post here, you want to create a connectivist environment to make this better? Am I right?
